Penelope – Rescue for Adoption

Name: Penelope

Breed: American Bulldog

Age: approximately 2 years

UPDATE (March 2017):

Penelope is still at WagsInn and is desperately wishing to find her forever home. She loves her friends at Wags, but she would like her very own family to love. She loves people and kids, but needs to be in a one animal home. She was on her death bed when we found her, and is now fully recovered from heartworm and doing very well. She will receive your affection and will give lots back in return.

(Originally posted: May 2016) Penelope was found as a stray late winter starving and neglected, and was diagnosed with a severe case of heartworm. Fortunately, Penelope is responding well to treatment and was cared for by one of our wonderful foster families during the 10-day waiting period.

She is now at WagsInn patiently waiting for her new family. She is a sweet girl who loves to go on walks and lounge on the couch. Penelope will officially be available for adoption in a few months after she is completely cured from heartworm. It’s a long recovery process.

Max – Rescue for Adoption

Breed: Mastiff

March 2017 /Age: 2-3 years old

First of all, Max doesn’t realize how big he is and thinks he’s a cuddly lap dog. When Max arrived he immediately went to the vet where they removed a gallbladder stone as big as a hockey puck. He was also diagnosed with heartworm. Max has completed his heartworm treatment. He does have some signs of hip dysplasia which is being managed.   Max is on a special diet which he will need to continue  for the rest of his life. He would love someone who is familiar with his breed and wants a couch potato who enjoys going on  few walks a day. We know he comes with baggage but just take a look at that face!!

Eddie – Rescue for Adoption

Name: Eddieeddie

Age: 2-3 years

Breed: Shepherd/hound blend

Eddie Munster was rescued from a shelter in Kentucky with his BFF Xander. He was found as a stray living in an abandon truck. He has lots of energy and loves to play with Xander, but he can also be a couch potato. Eddie is very independent, but when he receives one-on-one time he gets very loving and cuddly.

UPDATE: Eddie has completed his treatment for heartworm. He spends a lot of time in our office greeting people. He loves to be on your lap and has to be one of the most affectionate dogs. You will be getting a prize with Eddie!!

Petey – Rescue for Adoption

Age: 1-2 years

This handsome hunk of love was found as a stray roaming near a farm. He was glad to be rescued and come to WagsInn where he could eat and sleep in a safe place. Him and Penelope look like they could be brother and sister.

Petey loves people and attention. He would do best in a home as the only dog.

When my family adopted me, I had never seen the inside of a house or a car and was a bit skittish. My loving family has taught me lots about living inside and taking long walks on a leash, but I still struggle with strangers, tight places, and kids who move in ways that sometimes surprise me. 

I am a sweet girl who is looking for a family who likes to take long walks, has a big backyard to run, and has the time to work through my challenges. I love other dogs, large dogs in particular because I love to play hard with them, and I love to paw my favorite people.

Jet – Rescue for Adoption

If you’re looking for a running partner or someone to play fetch with, Jet is your guy. He’s a very sweet, happy, and energetic dog that needs an active family without small children. He is potty trained, neutered, and knows many obedience commands.

Papi – Rescue for Adoption

Papi (pronounced Poppy) came to WagsInn when his family moved and could no longer take care of him. He is a pleasant, loving fella who loves to go on long walks. He will even grab the leash himself and off he goes. He always looks back to make sure he can see you when he is walking.

Papi loves playing with his toys and having something to chew on. He is very lovinPapi_Leashg and just wants to be with you. He would make someone very happy and will be a faithful companion.

Tucker – Rescue for Adoption

Age:  3-4 years

Breed: Hound blend

Tucker is a 3-4 year old hound blend  who loves other dogs and running outside. He is good with kids, but is shy with men. He’s had some issues with men approaching him. Our staff will discuss this at the time of your visit.

Tucker is extremely affectionate with all of us including women and children. He doesn’t mind sharing a home with other dogs, but prefers not to live with a cat. He is worth meeting!
